What this sales growth tool does and who it is for
Pick a start month and an end month, and the tool builds an editable row for every month in between. Type in the revenue figure for each one and it calculates the month-over-month percentage change per period, the overall growth from the first month to the last, total revenue across the timeframe, and the average monthly figure. A trend chart plots the whole series so the shape of the business — steady climb, seasonal dip, one exceptional month distorting the average — is obvious at a glance.
When the numbers are in, export a branded PDF or PNG containing the table, the chart and the summary metrics. That output is designed to be dropped straight into a board pack, an investor update, a bank or grant application, or a monthly management meeting without further formatting.
It is most useful for small business owners reviewing performance without a BI tool, sales managers preparing a quarterly review, and freelancers or agency owners tracking revenue consistency across a year. Two habits it corrects: judging a month against the one before it when the business is seasonal, and quoting overall growth without showing the volatility underneath it.
All calculation happens in your browser. Your revenue figures are never uploaded, which makes this safe to use with real numbers rather than rounded placeholders.
Privacy first: this tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing leaves your device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to create.
Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate month-over-month growth?
- Month-over-month growth is ((current month − previous month) ÷ previous month) × 100, expressed as a percentage. Overall period growth uses the same formula applied to the first and last months in your selected range.
How many months can I compare?
- Any range you select. Pick a start and end month and the timeline table is generated for every month in between, from a two-month comparison to several years of history.
What is a good month-over-month growth rate?
- It depends heavily on your stage and sector, and a single month is rarely meaningful on its own. Watch the trend across several months instead, and read percentage jumps from a small base with caution.
Can I export the analysis?
- Yes. Download a branded PDF or PNG containing the monthly table, the trend chart and the summary KPIs, ready to attach to a report or management pack.
Are my sales figures private?
- Completely. Every calculation and the report generation itself run in your browser. Your revenue data is never sent to a server, so real figures are safe to enter.
Retyping last month's revenue into a spreadsheet again?
If the numbers you just entered by hand already exist in your invoices, the chart should build itself. Our invoicing and sales analytics builds keep revenue, ageing and collections updating live, with the same reports generated on demand.
