What this background remover does and who it is for

Drop in a photo or a logo, click once, and the subject is separated from whatever was behind it. You can download the result as a transparent PNG for layering onto slides, letterheads and web pages, or flatten it onto a solid colour — white for a clean directory headshot, or your brand colour for a name card and social profile. Several images can be queued and processed one after another.

The segmentation model runs inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your image is never uploaded: the only thing downloaded is the model itself, on the first run, after which removal is fast. That is a meaningful difference from typical free background removers, which post your file to a server, apply a watermark or a resolution cap, and ask you to subscribe for the full-size version.

It is built for the everyday business cases rather than photo-retouching studios — property agents and financial advisors preparing a profile headshot, small retailers cutting product shots out for a listing, marketers placing a client logo on a deck, and HR teams standardising staff photos across an internal directory.

Results are strongest on clear subjects against a reasonably distinct background. Very fine detail such as wispy hair or thin type over a busy photo can need a touch-up in an image editor afterwards; a well-lit source image makes far more difference to the cut-out than any setting would.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The removal runs on your own device using a model your browser downloads once. The image itself is never sent to us or to any third party, so there is nothing stored, logged or retained after you close the tab.

Does it work on logos as well as photos?

Yes. Logos on a plain or near-plain background cut out cleanly and are the most common use here — placing a brand mark onto a deck, invoice or letterhead without a white box around it. Logos already saved as transparent PNGs need no processing at all.

Why is the first removal slower than the rest?

The first run downloads the AI model into your browser, which takes a few seconds depending on your connection. Once it is cached, subsequent images are processed almost immediately, including after you come back to the page later.

Can I download the image on a white or coloured background?

Yes. Choose transparent for a PNG with no background, or pick white, black or a custom colour before downloading and the cut-out is composited onto that colour at full resolution.

Is there a watermark or resolution limit?

No watermark and no downscaling. The output keeps the resolution of the source image, and files up to about 15MB are supported — the practical ceiling is your device's memory rather than a paid tier.
